Announcing a New Facility with Mason Dixie Foods

We’re pleased to announce a new facility of $3.5MM with Mason Dixie Foods. Ayeshah Abuelhiga founded the company in 2014 on a mission to change Southern comfort food for the better. Mason Dixie Foods offers a variety of high-quality homestyle classics like biscuits and breakfast sandwiches, all made with ingredients that can be bought at the store and without unnecessary chemicals.
The BIPOC, LGBTQ+, Certified-Woman-Owned and operated business has been gaining increased popularity after starting out as a small restaurant in Washington D.C. The business became so popular that it started freezing some of its breakfast items, which led Mason Dixie Foods to sell frozen Southern comfort food.
Mason Dixie kicked off their CPG-side of the business when they were noticed by Whole Foods Market. They included the brand in select stores in 2015 due to their clean-label products and increased popularity, and items flew off the shelves. The brand has been growing 3.5x year over year, and recently landed a $6.3 Million Series A from primarily private investors, with a significant percentage being female. Mason Dixie Foods has grown 500% since 2021 and continues to scale rapidly, and Assembled Brands is thrilled to be supporting its growth with a substantial line of credit.
What is next for the brand?
Founder Abuelhiga says, “The sky is the limit! We are looking to expand our offerings into more food service venues, such as colleges and universities, sporting venues, and travel & leisure centers. We are also expanding our ready-to-eat product offerings so stay tuned for more updates in the coming months!”We are fond of our partnership with Mason Dixie Foods as we take pride in working with socially responsible brands that create innovative and high-quality products.
